War - Luke

Class 5 have been writing about war, its causes and effects.

WAR

War – necessary evil or just evil? It's malicious. If the countries at war sat down and debated, the world would be at peace.

My opinion on war is to stop and debate. But, if we stop war, there
will be more unemployment than ever and more poverty will occur. Also there's worse things in the world than war: child starvation and diseases wipe out more people in a year than war does.

Why does war start? Normally, it's arguments over skin colours, religions, money and land. For example: the row between Russia and Ukraine is over land.

The impact of war is terrible; the sadness of families is tragic. It's like a disease spreading through your veins. If you ask someone “Do you like war?” The answer will be an immediate “NO!” But if you ask someone is war necessary, their answer might change.

Is it necessary? This could raise a big debate, however it isn't.
I know young children would like to go to war, then when they grow up, they realise what they desire puts their lives in jeopardy.

To finish, I'd like to leave you with a question: war - necessary evil or just evil?
