War - Lydia

WAR

For years wars have been hated: hated as much as we hate slavery.
Men marching , taking over countries like a tsunami destroying a city.

Whatever the result , ever war in history takes lives and gives none , causes damage and destruction. It forces people to start their lives all over , in a different way.

People , young and old , children , adults , fighting to protect the country. They knew that they were fighting for their future , for their next generation , for their own lives. Are we sure that wars are right for all of us?

In my opinion , it takes great bravery and courage to go out there and fight for lives. For other lives. When faced with people dressed in camouflage , holding guns , helmets balnced on their heads , strapped around their chins , our general reaction is to freeze:mentally stop . But not in the war . Bomb shells like tigers pounce on the enemy .

So , how does our generation decide whether war is evil , and should be no more . Or they are necessary , and keep the world busy and active . But instead of asking that question , over and over again , shouldn't we ask the question: what other options are there?

WAR

War: roaming around us searching for ways to get in, leaving us sick and wounded, and making the previously calm battle for life. War, in my opinion, just pure evil.

Nobody likes war. “Tomorrow is a gift that’s why it’s called the present” somebody once said. People at war can’t say that, they dread the next day. Who would not want to be able to say that quote. I want to stop war.

Did you know, since 1495 there has been no 25 year period without a war happening. If you walked up to someone who has been involved in war and asked “Do you like war?” The answer, loud and clear, would be “No!” Although if you said “Do you think people have rights to go to war?” or “Are wars necessary?” The answer might be very different.

In my opinion, those people who go to war should get  even more credit. It takes someone of great courage, great fortitude and great temerity to go to war. Imagine how you would feel: the dark atmosphere, the worry of being shot, and above all: leaving your family behind.

So what is war all about? It is usually childish and infantile things like: difference in resources (land, oil, money etc.), difference of religion, struggle for power and some just like causing large arguments.

Some people like war; most people hate it. So is it necessary or just pure evil?

War – necessary evil or just evil? It's malicious. If the countries at war sat down and debated, the world would be at peace.

My opinion on war is to stop and debate. But, if we stop war, there
will be more unemployment than ever and more poverty will occur. Also there's worse things in the world than war: child starvation and diseases wipe out more people in a year than war does.

Why does war start? Normally, it's arguments over skin colours, religions, money and land. For example: the row between Russia and Ukraine is over land.

The impact of war is terrible; the sadness of families is tragic. It's like a disease spreading through your veins. If you ask someone “Do you like war?” The answer will be an immediate “NO!” But if you ask someone is war necessary, their answer might change.

Is it necessary? This could raise a big debate, however it isn't.
I know young children would like to go to war, then when they grow up, they realise what they desire puts their lives in jeopardy.

To finish, I'd like to leave you with a question: war - necessary evil or just evil?

WAR

Staring into the supposed enemy's eyes , nothing personal against the individual in front of you , just knowing that they're the person you are meant to shoot .Would you be able to?

We all have beliefs that we want to share .However,  should whole nations be asked to suffer as the consequence of world leaders intransigence?

The truly great leaders of this world rule their country by making decisions only for the benefit of their people . Other leaders are so blinded by their power, that when deciding to go to  war they will think : 'We have the money to do this ' not : ' How will this effect my people ? '

When you ask people ' Do you agree with war ? ' It would be a definite ' NO ' . However , war is like a scar that won't go away . So yes,  many people don’t agree with war , there are powerful people who make the decisions for us and will keep  on using us to fight  their arguments .

Many nations have been destroyed by war ; however , it has to stop. How many more wars can this world take?

WAR

Like a shadow consuming the world, never stopping, always wanting more, gathering momentum until it can't be prevented, war drags nations into its dark hands.

Many people think war is for the greater good; it is. However, does it have to be war that settles arguments? Why can't mankind use the thing that separates us from any other animals, our greatest ability: our intelligence? Unfortunately, many of the greatest minds in the world were forced to use their talent in a cynical way, such as Mr. Kalashnikov (who invented the Kalashnikov gun).

War is the precursor of many problems. If you asked someone, "How does famine usually occur?" they would probably say there are too many people to feed. However, they might not know that is is actually war. Countries who are ( or have been ) at war spend  a vast amount of their national income on weapons and equipment. Although war has a starting point too: greed.

Greed is the emotion that waits, biding its time like a lion stalking its prey, until you desire something and greed seizes your body. Greed can come in many different forms: power, money, land and beliefs are just some of them. Fortunately, plenty of people have managed to resist greed and therefore stand up to those who can not. Proof of this can be seen in World War 1, when the Allies stood up to the Axis.

Fortunately, war has come a long way. From two dominant nations clashing over territory, to small bands of terrorists holding hostages. Unfortunately, humans have been able to create weapons of mass destruction, such as nuclear bombs. War is a thing that should be cast out; however, is it just in human nature to not accept that we are all different?

WAR

Why do we have wars?

Like two worlds divided, war ripped the bond. Ask anyone today:”If you could stop war,how would you do it?”
The majority would say:”I would talk to whoever started it.”
However, its not a who its a what.

Religion and land are the two main subjects, why  is this acceptable?
Children are being evacuated but lack of food results in illness and maybe death.
Deafening screams like gun shots echo through the battle field. No poppies will be growing here.

We can't stop fighting we have so much to say, yet it never comes out, because were afraid...
When we fight anger rushes through our veins like fire works on bonfire night.
War is everywhere, everywhere we look, everywhere we walk. Dragging footsteps of soldiers in and out of the battle field death builds under their feet in worry of their loved ones.

Like a wolf howling at the moon, war spreads through everybody’s hearts, which sends a shiver down our spines. Like a punch in the stomach we want to punch back, but when we do it involves more people, and more, and more until someone stops it all. War needs someone like this.
People deserve peace, people deserve to be equal.

The motto for war should be: “Just because its not happening here, it does not mean its not happening.”
People forget the human race is amazing; the things we do, the way we take opportunities together and the way we express ourselves. If we make a mistake we can correct it, perhaps it's  time our world leaders learned a little humility and admitted their mistakes!
