WAR

Like a shadow consuming the world, never stopping, always wanting more, gathering momentum until it can't be prevented, war drags nations into its dark hands.

Many people think war is for the greater good; it is. However, does it have to be war that settles arguments? Why can't mankind use the thing that separates us from any other animals, our greatest ability: our intelligence? Unfortunately, many of the greatest minds in the world were forced to use their talent in a cynical way, such as Mr. Kalashnikov (who invented the Kalashnikov gun).

War is the precursor of many problems. If you asked someone, "How does famine usually occur?" they would probably say there are too many people to feed. However, they might not know that is is actually war. Countries who are ( or have been ) at war spend  a vast amount of their national income on weapons and equipment. Although war has a starting point too: greed.

Greed is the emotion that waits, biding its time like a lion stalking its prey, until you desire something and greed seizes your body. Greed can come in many different forms: power, money, land and beliefs are just some of them. Fortunately, plenty of people have managed to resist greed and therefore stand up to those who can not. Proof of this can be seen in World War 1, when the Allies stood up to the Axis.

Fortunately, war has come a long way. From two dominant nations clashing over territory, to small bands of terrorists holding hostages. Unfortunately, humans have been able to create weapons of mass destruction, such as nuclear bombs. War is a thing that should be cast out; however, is it just in human nature to not accept that we are all different?
